Let’s Meet you 

I am Abiola Olawale, the CEO of Odna World. I am passionate about making healthy food produce available to homes as I promote the Sustainable Development Goal 3- Good Health and Well-being.

I was born into an enterprising home. My mum taught me my first lessons about shopping and running a business. She is a “PRO” and growing up with her as I helped in running her business was an eye opening experience.  

What’s the story behind your business? 

Odna World is your preferred personal grocery shopper. We go the extra mile to ensure you get the best. It was the stress I went through while I was working in Yaba, Lagos that inspired the birth of this business. I would leave home at  5:00am I get back  at 10:30pm sometimes 11:00pm due to traffic. The struggle was real. I actually started putting my self in the shoes of working class wives and mothers. I asked myself how they got around shopping with their tight schedules. In thinking about this, Odna World online grocery shopping business started. We are hoping to expand into other aspect of AgricBusiness. 

What’s the connection between your faith and your dreams in becoming a successful, inspiring entrepreneur?

I am nothing without God. I can’t achieve anything without his help. So every day I work on my business with the understanding that I have all I need in God and all I do is powered by Him. 

What will you say to your younger self and by extension, every other young girl dreaming big dream with all you know today? 

I will say, put all your dreams into writing and move with people that have similar visions. There is power in association; strategically surround yourself with the people going in the same direction as you. I  will also say, get to know and develop a relationship with God early enough. 

Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

Ibukun Awosika, She is one of my role models and she reminds me of Deborah in the Bible.

What do you do daily that brings you closer to your big goals?

I spend time THINKING- I mediate deeply on my dreams and I set out one to two things I need to do daily to get me closer to my dreams. There is power in visualizing what you hope for. Picture it in your mind daily and then, set realistic goals everyday to bring you closer.

Any Final Words?

I am a very shy person but when it comes to business, adding value and getting things done, I keep the shyness aside and I pursue the goal I need to achieve. It is not always easy to come out of your comfort zone but it is always worth it because it pushes you to thrive to become a better version of yourself. 

Something else that is helping me everyday as an entrepreneur is knowing when to ask for help. Many people think it is a form of weakness when you ask others for help. It is not. It is actually really wise to surround yourself with people “smarter” than you. You also keep adding value to yourself such that others can get help from you when they seek it.

To solve this problem, Odnaworld sources farm produce directly from suppliers, ensuring quality and, with the help of technology, delivers to the consumer at their convenience.
